England tour of India 2021: Bhuvneshwar Kumar will play a significant role for Team India in the upcoming T20 World Cup at home and needs to be properly managed, reckons VVS Laxman.
VVS Laxman reckons that veteran pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar should not play more than 3 matches in the upcoming 5 T20Is against England, starting on March 12 in Ahmedabad. The 31-year-old right-arm pacer was added to India’s T20I squad last month marking his return from a hamstring injury that he has incurred during IPL 2020, playing for the Sunrisers Hyderabad. After having missed a significant part of IPL 2020, Bhuvneshwar returned to competitive cricket in January as he took part in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20s for his state team Uttar Pradesh. Bhuvneshwar also featured in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and has now joined the Indian camp in Ahmedabad. “There's a lot of depth in the Indian pace department, we saw this even in the Test match cricket in their tour to Australia. I still feel great and happy that Bhuvaneshwar Kumar has regained fitness because he’s such an important bowler, especially in white ball cricket for India, because apart from Jasprit Bumrah, if there’s anyone in that Indian bowling line-up who has got the experience of bowling not only with the new ball but also at the death,” Laxman sai, speaking exclusively on Star Sports show Cricket Connected.More Related News
