Bhuvan Bam has apologised on Twitter for the ‘Pahadi women’ reference in his new YouTube video.
YouTuber Bhuvan Bam has issued an apology on Twitter after he was slammed online for making a distasteful remark about "pahadi" women in one of his YouTube videos lately. His apology came after the official Twitter handle of the National Commission for Women (NCW) tweeted about the matter.
“@NCWIndia has taken cognisance. Chairperson @sharmarekha has written to @CPDelhi to register FIR & to take strict action in the matter. NCW has also written to Secy, Ministry of Electronics & IT to take appropriate action against the YouTube channel for violating dignity of women,” NCW had tweeted on Thursday.
Replying to the tweet on Thursday, Bhuvan said that he has edited the video and deleted the particular part that left netizens rather upset.
“I’m aware that a section in my video has hurt some people. I have edited it to remove that part. People who know me know I have utmost respect for women. I had no intention to hurt anyone. A heartfelt apology to everyone whose sentiments have been disregarded,” he wrote in the tweet.

“This is not humour - it’s vulgar misogynistic trash that objectifies women and in particular pahaadi women,” a Twitter user wrote referring to the video featuring Bhuvan Bam. Several others posted similar comments with reference to Bhuvan's video.
I was waiting for this. At least someone noticed the rubbish being served in BB's video on the name of humour.
