Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi and Marvel’s Eternals are releasing on November 5, Diwali. In an exclusive conversation with IndiaToday.in, Bhushan Kumar said that Sooryavanshi should’ve been a solo release.
Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh and Katrina Kaif’s Sooryavanshi hits theatres this Friday, on November 5. The film is the big Diwali release of 2021. However, it is not a solo release. The film has to share screens with another big ticket release - Marvel’s Eternals. Film clashes have become a norm in Bollywood. Another big clash coming up in 2022 is between RRR and Gangubai Kathiawadi in January.
In an exclusive conversation with IndiaToday.in, Bhushan Kumar, who has a slate of films lined up for release in the coming months, shared his views on the culture of box office clashes in Bollywood. Bhushan said, “I am not a fan of films clashing at the box office. It affects both the films, especially when the film is a big-ticket release. For example, I think Sooryavanshi should have got a solo release. It is a very big film that shouldn’t have had to compete with another title. But I understand the other film is a big Hollywood studio and they must have had their own plans for the worldwide release. So, the clash is inevitable.”
