BHU, IIT-BHU sign MoU, agree to file joint patents for collaborative research work

BHU and IIT-BHU have signed an MoU, agreeing to file joint patents for collaborative research work.
Banaras Hindu University (BHU) and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-BHU) Varanasi, have joined hands to facilitate IPR filing on collaborative research in science, technology, and humanities.
The two institutions have inked a MoU for the purpose. BHU Registrar Prof. Arun Kumar Singh and Dean, (Research and Development), IIT (BHU) Varanasi, Prof. Vikash Kumar Dubey recently signed the five-year MoU.
The MoU will encourage researchers from both institutes to come together and explore intellectual properties of joint research and development.
It will also give a fillip to IPR and patent covering multidisciplinary or transdisciplinary research.
While BHU has a very strong ecosystem for studies and research in social sciences, humanities, and sciences, IIT (BHU) Varanasi has been doing exemplary work in the area of science and technology.
The coming together of the two leading institutions will open and offer multiple avenues for researchers who are keen to explore new products and IPR.
As per the MoU, the two institutions will file joint Intellectual Property Rights/Patent applications.
