BHU continues to shine as varsity's Environmental Sciences makes it to 'QS Rankings by Subject'

BHU’S Environmental Sciences is among the top 450 institutions in the world.
Adding another feather to its cap, Banaras Hindu University’s Environment Science has made it to QS World Rankings 2022 by Subject. As per the ranking, BHU is among the top 450 institutions in the world when it comes to Environmental Science.
In the year 2021, the programme was not included in the subject-wise ranking, which has improved this year to 401-450.
Globally, over 450 institutions have been ranked for Environmental Science. From India, only 8 institutions have been ranked in this category, including BHU.
This is a testimony of the leading role Banaras Hindu University is playing in teaching and researching various aspects related to the environment.
Professor A S. Raghuvanshi, Director, Institute of Environment and Sustainable Development, expressed happiness about the development. He said that the Institute is emerging as a leading center across the country for study and research in the environment and related fields.
The Hon’ble Education Minister, Government of India, Dharmendra Pradhan has also tweeted on 8 Indian Institutions featuring in the Environment Science QS ranking.
He said, “It is satisfying to learn that India remains at the forefront of global environmental science research with 8 universities featuring in the QS Environmental Sciences Ranking 2022.”
