Bhopal heaves sigh of relief after light rainfall; Sehore witnesses hailstorm

The people of Bhopal heaved a sigh of relief as the city received light rainfall on Sunday. Hailstorms were reported in Sehore as abrupt changes were witnessed due to changing active systems.
After reeling under the scorching heat for the past few days, several districts of Madhya Pradesh witnessed light hailstorms, drizzle or light rain on Sunday. The people of Bhopal heaved a sigh of relief as the weather turned cloudy in the evening and a sharp drop in temperature was recorded in some areas on Sunday evening.
The weather witnessed abrupt changes due to changing active systems and a heavy spell was witnessed in Narmadapuram and hailstorm was reported in Sehore.
The people of the state got some relief from the swelthering heat as Siddhi reported 6 mm rainfall and hailstorms in Shahganj area of Sehore were reported. While Narmadapuram saw rainfall, light showers
The India Meteorological Department has predicted light rainfall in a few districts of the state from May 2 to May 5.
Meteorologist Ved Prakash Singh was quoted by the Free Press Journal as saying, "Because of the wind arriving from Pakistan, a low pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal as a result of which the weather has turned here and light rain is expected in some areas till May 5." (sic)
According to the weather agency, Bhopal is likely to receive light rainfall and Indore may experience cloud cover. Districts such as Guna, Ashoknagar, Sehore, Narmadapuram/ Pachmarhi, Chhindwara and Seoni may get light rainfall; thunderstorms with lightning are likely to continue in the forenoon hours.
