Better.com has been in the news over the firing of 900 employees on a Zoom call. CEO Vishal Garg was on the receiving end of netizens after a video of him firing 900 employees via Zoom call went viral on social media. Garg was soon sent on a "leadership and cultural assessment" break by the board. However, amid all the company's turbulence, it has the support of key partner SPAC, a blank-check firm.
n their SEC-U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filings, Aurora Acquisition Corp noted that Garg is taking a break to reflect and refocus. The report said that Garg would remain the Chief Executive Officer of the company. Kevin Ryan, the COO, will only help oversee the leadership team and continue his duties as Chief Financial Officer. Aurora said that it remains confident in Better and the proposed transactions.
