Bengaluru woman held for throwing specially-abled daughter from 4th floor of apartment

A woman has been arrested for killing her mentally-ill four-year-old daughter by throwing the child from the fourth floor of their apartment in Bengaluru. A CCTV video of the apartment shows the incident unfolding. The mother was reportedly suffering from depression.

A mother threw her 5-year-old daughter from the 4th floor of their apartment in Bengaluru. The child died on the spot. India Today has managed to obtain a CCTV video of the incident. The child was reportedly specially-abled and the mother was suffering from depression.

In the CCTV footage of the incident, the mother can be seen walking in the 4th-floor corridor of the apartment with the child. The incident took place on Thursday, August 4.

After throwing her child, the mother also climbs onto the railing, but a few seconds later, people nearby pull her down.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Central, Srinivas Gowda, said “The mother has thrown the child from the balcony on purpose. We have arrested her and booked a case against her. The child seems to be mentally unstable and we have to conduct further investigations.”
