Bengaluru: Father and sons arrested for abducting youth, demanding Rs 7 lakh ransom

A father and his two sons were held for kidnapping a 21-year-old boy from his residence in Nelamangala, Karnataka and demanding a ransom of Rs 7 lakh.
A 46-year-old cabbie and his two sons were arrested for kidnapping a 21-year-old boy from his residence in Nelamangala, Karnataka, and demanding a ransom of Rs 7 lakh.
However, the victim, Pavan T, was rescued from his abductors with the help of Vidyaranyapura police late on Monday night.
According to a report published in The Indian Express, the accused were identified as G Ravi, a cab driver and his sons R Madesha (24) and R Srinivasa (21), all residents of Vidyaranyapura. The victim is a final-year B Com student and a resident of the teachers’ colony in north Bengaluru.
The incident took place at around 8 pm on March 6, when Pavan was at his home. Two accused, Ravi and Madesha, barged into the house and abducted him.
Soon, his mother, C Shantha, who was in her hometown in Mandya when the incident took place, got a call from the abductors demanding Rs 7 lakh to release her son and threatened to kill him if she did not pay the ransom.
Shantha filed a complaint with the Vidyaranyapura police the next day.
The police said that the abduction case was solved in less than 12 hours as they tracked Ravi and his sons using his phone number, as reported by The Indian Express.
