The event, held to commemorate the 264th ASC Day, took place at the ASC Centre and College and the Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway. Subedar Pradeep SS set a world record for the longest backward ride on a motorcycle, covering a distance of 361.56 km. Havildar Manish broke the world record for the longest basic hands-free wheelie, traveling 2.349 km.
In addition, Sepoy Sumit Tomar created a new record for the longest no-hands wheelie, achieving a distance of 1,715.4 m.
“All attempts were conducted in accordance with the official guidelines of the Guinness World Records,” stated a Ministry of Defence release.
Subedar Pradeep, started his journey at 6.30 a.m. on his Royal Enfield motorcycle and completed it after 10 hours.
Sepoy Tomar, who broke the previous record of 918.24 m, set by Elliot Gronadhil from Sweden said: “We had been practising for this moment for the last three to four months. We cannot showcase our talent if we feel tense and show pressure. I encourage people to do these kinds of stunts with all safety measures.”
Havildar Manish said that he had planned to do this stunt six months ago and practised for four months: “We practised three to four hours a day continuously. When I saw the previous 580-m record, I thought I could set a great target. Now, finally, we did it.”
