Bengali TV actor Pallavi Dey's live-in partner was arrested by police on Tuesday in connection with her death.
Bengali television actor Pallavi Dey's live-in partner Sagnik Chakroborty has been arrested by police on Tuesday in connection with the actor's death. Pallavi Dey was found dead at her flat in the Garfa area of Kolkata on May 15.
Chakroborty was arrested by Garfa Police after a long interrogation. The parents of Pallavi Dey had filed a complaint against Chakroborty, accusing him of murder.
Pallavi Dey started living in a rented flat with Chakroborty in Kolkata since last month. Her body was found hanging from a ceiling fan on Sunday. In fact, Chakroborty was the first person who notified the police about the death.
Although the police did not find any suicide note, the preliminary autopsy suggested a case of suicide and no external injury.
Police had initially started an investigation by filing a case of unnatural death. But later converted this to a murder case after allegations by Dey's parents.
The Bengali TV actress was known for playing the lead role in ‘Mon Mane Na’ as Gauri. She has also worked in several other shows, including Resham Japi, Saraswati Prem and Ami Sirajer Begum.
