Bengal post-poll violence: SC to hear state govt's plea against HC order of CBI probe on Sept 20

West Bengal government's appeal challenging the Calcutta High Court order directing a court-monitored CBI probe into the alleged incidents of rape and murder during the post-poll violence in the state will be heard by the Supreme Court on September 20.

The Supreme Court has said it would hear on September 20 the West Bengal government's appeal challenging the Calcutta High Court order directing a court-monitored CBI probe into the alleged incidents of rape and murder during the post-poll violence in the state after accepting an NHRC panel's recommendations. A bench comprising Justices Vineet Saran and Aniruddha Bose deferred the matter to go through a chart submitted by the West Bengal government.
