In a letter to Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar, BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari alleged that his movements were being obstructed by Bengal police.
Leader of Opposition in West Bengal Assembly Suvendu Adhikari wrote to Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Thursday, alleging that his movements were being obstructed by Bengal police.
"My movement, previously, time and again, has been obstructed by the West Bengal Police," Suvendu Adhikari wrote in the letter he sent to Governor Jagdeep Dhankar on Thursday evening.
Suvendu Adhikari's allegations were mostly against additional SP-ranked (Superintendent of Police) officers in many districts.
Suvendu Adhikari wrote to the governor after police stopped his convoy while he was on his way to Bikash Bhavan to submit a deputation to start the schools and colleges. A high-voltage drama unfolded thereafter.
Soon after his convoy was stopped, Suvendu Adhikari, along with nine Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs including Agnimitra Paul, Ashok Dinda, Manoj Tigga, staged a protest in the Karunamoyee area in Salt Lake.
Police stopped them from proceeding. This led to an argument between the two groups.
The BJP delegation led by Suvendu Adhikari claimed that they will again visit Bikash Bhavan to submit the deputation for starting schools immediately.
