On Saturday morning, police arrested two miscreants with illegal fire arms in Bhatpara in North 24 Parganas. Bhatpara and Jagaddal were in news for heavy political clashes after the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
Some hundreds of kilometres away in Samsergunj in Murshidabad, a jar filled with crude bombs were recovered by the police.
The police recovered this jar from Kohetpur under Samserganj police station. The bomb squad was informed. Police started an investigation into how bombs were kept in a jungle.
On Friday, searches were conducted throughout the state. The West Bengal police seized eight crude bombs from Jagaddal area in North 24 Parganas. And 14 crude live bombs were recovered in Rahamanpur under Raghunathganj police station in Murshidabad.
On Thursday, crude bombs which filled up five buckets were seized from Margram in Rampurhat.
