Bengal minister says 'Mamata is our only leader' ahead of emergency TMC meet

Amid an apparent rift in the TMC, Bengal Forest Minister Jyotipriyo Mullick has said Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is the only leader of the party.
At a time when an apparent rift between the Trinamool Congress leaders loyal to Abhishek Banerjee and the old guard can be seen widening, Bengal Forest Minister Jyotipriyo Mullick has said Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is the only leader of the party.
This comes ahead of the meeting called by Mamata Banerjee with the party top brass including Abhishek Banerjee at her residence this evening.
Jyotipriyo Mullick told India Today, "Meetings are important. Mamata is our leader. There's no other leader other than Mamata. Whatever she says will happen in the party."
He went on to state that the TMC and all the leaders have won because of Mamata Banerjee. "We have won because of Mamata Banerjee" he Mullick.
Denying reports of rigging during the Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation elections, he said, "The West Bengal Police is doing a great job. They are doing a better job than the central police."
Social media is now divided with TMC leaders from the Abhishek Banerjee camp putting up posts endorsing the "#IsupportOnePersonOnePost" campaign.
After her party emerged victorious in the assembly elections last year, Mamata Banerjee announced in August 2021 that she would endorse the "One Person One Post" policy.
