Bengal minister Firhad Hakim slammed UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath for his comment on the post-poll violence in West Bengal and called him UP’s Gabbar Singh.
Bengal minister and Kolkata mayor, Firhad Hakim, on Saturday slammed UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath for his comment on the post-poll violence in West Bengal in May last year and called him UP’s Gabbar Singh.
"Yogi is UP's Gabbar Singh. No one dares to speak up in UP. They imprison opposition leaders and they speak of violence in Bengal? There is no violence here, the people of Bengal have taught peace to the world,” Hakim said.
“Yogi should come and learn administration from West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee. You conduct elections in the name of religion and conduct encounters; we conduct elections on developmental issues," said the Bengal minister.
Earlier in the day, BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari took to Twitter to thank CM Yogi Adityanath for raising the post-poll violence that took place in Bengal in May last year.
The leader of the Opposition in the West Bengal legislative assembly also expressed gratitude to Adityanath for showing solidarity.
Adhikari, who defeated Banerjee in Nandigram, wrote, “I earnestly extend my gratitudes to Hon'ble UP CM Shri @myogiadityanath ji for highlighting the dastardly WB post poll violence incidents, while speaking on the motion of thanks on the Hon'ble UP Governor's address to the state legislature. Thank you for your words of solidarity.”
