Bengal govt lists 10 IPS officers to assist post-poll violence probe

The West Bengal government named 10 IPS officers following a petition, stating that the state government was not taking any steps to form the court-ordered SIT to probe into post-poll violence, ten days after the judgement was passed.
The West Bengal government on Thursday listed the names of 10 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers to assist in the post-poll violence cases, which will be investigated by the Calcutta High Court-monitored Special Investigation Team (SIT).Two IPS officers from five zones, including the North Zone, South Zone, West Zone and Kolkata Police, have been named. This comes after one of the post-poll violence petitioners approached the court of Acting Chief Justice Rajesh Bindal on Tuesday alleging that the state government was not taking any steps to form the court-ordered SIT, ten days after the judgement was passed.More Related News
