Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee announces gun salute for singer KK at Kolkata airport

A day after KK passed away following a concert in Kolkata, West Bengal CM announced a gun salute for the singer's honour at the Kolkata airport.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at a district booth meeting in Bankura on Wednesday, June 1, declared a gun salute in honour of the singer who passed away in Kolkata. The announcement comes a day after singer KK's shocking death following a concert in Kolkata.
"If the weather is decent, I will travel via air to Kolkata. We will hold a gun salute for KK at Dum Dum airport," said the Chief Minister.
She also stated her desire to see KK for one last time and she would travel to Andal airport from Bankura and take a flight to Kolkata on Wednesday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences, saying "songs reflected a wide range of emotions as struck a chord with people of all age groups".
Tributes for the singer poured in from across the world as shocked fans expressed grief and bid adieu to the singer.
