Bengal BJP responds to its video calling India Today journalist post-poll violence victim, blames 'hyperlink'

On Thursday, the West Bengal BJP issued a statement in response to the erroneous portrayal of an India Today journalist as a victim of the post-poll violence in Bengal. The party said the error was due to a "hyperlink".
The BJP has issued a statement in response to the mistaken use of an IndiaToday.in journalist's image by its West Bengal unit. In a video on Wednesday, the party's state unit had used a picture of IndiaToday.in's Abhro Banerjee, describing him as 'Manik Moitro', a party worker who allegedly died in post-poll violence in Bengal's Sitalkuchi. I am Abhro Banerjee, living and hale and hearty and around 1,300 km away from Sitalkuchi. BJP IT Cell is now claiming I am Manik Moitra and died in Sitalkuchi. Please don't believe these fake posts and please don't worry. I repeat: I am (still) alivehttps://t.co/y4jKsfx8tI pic.twitter.com/P2cXJFP5KO BJP's Bengal blooper | @ShivAroor speaks to Abhro Banerjee (@AbhroBanerjee1), the journalist whose image was erroneously used by BJP. #5iveLive #WestBengal pic.twitter.com/GEPCIqdCvc — Abhro Banerjee (@AbhroBanerjee1) May 6, 2021 — IndiaToday (@IndiaToday) May 6, 2021 After Abhro Banerjee pointed out that his image was used in place of 'Manik Moitro', the BJP said the error was due to a "hyperlink".More Related News
