Rakhal Bera, a close aide of BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari, has been arrested by Kolkata Police for allegedly duping a man to the tune of Rs 2 lakh on the pretext of a job in the state's irrigation department.
Kolkata Police has arrested Rakhal Bera in connection with an alleged fake government job scam. Bera is considered to be a close aide of BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari. A former TMC leader, Adhikari is now the Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the West Bengal Assembly. The police said Rakhal Bera was arrested from outside his residence on the basis of a complaint filed by one Sujit Dey at the Manicktala police station. Dey, a resident of Kalyangarh, has accused Bera and others of duping people by promising jobs in the state's irrigation and waterways department. In his statement to the police, the complainant said the accused organised a camp inside a flat at the Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics Cooperative Housing Society on Kolkata's Manicktola Road sometime between July 2019 and September 2019.More Related News
