The Ashes: Ben Stokes has been given the all-clear by his consultant and the ECB medical team to resume training following his second operation on a fractured left index finger and will depart with the Test specialists and the Lions on November 4.
England all-rounder Ben Stokes will return to international cricket in the Ashes, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) said on Monday. Stokes has been included in the England squad for the Ashes and will leave for Australia with the rest of the team's Test specialists and reserve squad on November 4.
"I had a break to prioritise my mental wellbeing and I got my finger sorted. I am looking forward to seeing my mates and being on the field with them. I'm ready for Australia," said Stokes in the ECB statement.
