Ben Carson blasts progressive 'equity' push as 'what we used to call racism'

In a new opinion piece penned by the former HUD secretary, Ben Carson pointed out there has been a “subtle shift” in the focus of “racially charged narratives” that have been pounding American airwaves: Progressives have “moved from equality to equity.”
Current HUD Secretary Marcia Fudge explained during a confirmation hearing that equity is different than equality in that it requires treating people differently. "From my own perspective, the difference is that one just means that you treat everybody the same," Fudge said. "Sometimes the same is not equitable."More Related News
