
Beast box office collection Day 8: Thalapathy Vijay's film struggles to pick up pace

Thalapathy Vijay's Beast, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, holds steady at the box office. The film's theatrical run might come to an end next week.
Thalapathy Vijay's Beast might be nearing the end of its theatrical run with theatres alloting more shows to Yash's KGF: Chapter 2. According to trade reports, this weekend's collection will determine Beast's final lifetime gross in Tamil Nadu. The film received mixed reviews, but still managed to collect over Rs 200 crore at the box office. During the weekdays, Beast's box office performance was satisfactory and not up to the mark.
Beast, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, hit the theatres on April 13, one day ahead of Tamil New Year. The film got off to a flying start and ran to packed houses during the opening weekend. However, the collections started to witness a decline during the weekdays.
Trade analyst Ramesh Bala pointed out that the box office collection of Beast on Saturday (April 22) and Sunday (April 23) will determine its lifetime collection in Tamil Nadu.

Trade analyst LM Kaushik wrote, "#Beast Tuesday Chennai city gross is 32 lakhs. Week1 total Chennai city gross is 8.35 CR, the *best Week1 total gross in the city, post-pandemic* The film bags all these milestones & records despite the negativity, all thanks to #Thalapathy @actorvijay's massive star power. Dot! (sic)."
