Barcelona and Leeds United have announced that they have reached an agreement 'in principle' for the transfer of Raphinha.
Barcelona and Leeds United have announced that they have reached an agreement in principle for the transfer of Raphinha to the Catalunyan club.
The Brazilian winger's career has been on the rise since he got Deco on board as his agent and moved to Europe. He had brief stints in Portugal with Vitoria Guimaraes and Sporting Lisbon before moving to France to join Rennes. Raphinha played an instrumental role in guiding the French club to the Champions League in 2019.
Leeds United quickly snapped him up and he was a standout performer under Marco Bielsa. Raphinha scored 17 goals in 60 appearances in the Premier League.
The English club announced on Wednesday that an agreement has been reached with Barcelona for the transfer of the Brazilian winger.
"We can confirm that an agreement in principle has been reached with FC Barcelona for the transfer of Raphinha. The player will now undergo a medical in Spain," said Leeds United.
Barcelona also issued a similar statement on their website confirming the agreement with Leeds United.
"FC Barcelona and Leeds United Football Club have reached an agreement in principle for the transfer of Raphael Dias Belloli, Raphinha, pending the player passing his medical," said Barcelona.
