Veteran singer and music composer Bappi Lahiri passed away on February 16 in Mumbai. His sudden demise has sent shockwaves across the country and left scores of fans in a state of grief. Bappi Lahiri was known for popularising disco music in India in the 80s and 90s.

The song from the film Chalte Chalte was sung by Kishore Kumar and Bappi Lahiri rendered music to it. Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, Bappi Lahiri, most of the posts read, as fans bid a fond farewell to him.
Singer Adnan Sami in his post remembered Bappi Lahiri as "India's first rockstar". He also used the lyrics of the song Chalte Chalte to bid him farewell.

Director Kunal Kohli shared a video of himself singing Chalte Chalte on Instagram as he remembered the legendary singer-composer.
