Banks raise awareness about online scams

Doha: Technology advancement has led to increase in online scams regionally and globally. Considering these threats, banks in Qatar have reminded its customers, through their social media campaign, to be vigilant from such fraudulent messages.
“Beware of fraud! Don’t share personal or confidential information like your account number, CVV2 code, OTP (One Time Password) or password with others,” Masraf Al Rayan said on its official twitter handle, yesterday. A
nother tweet by the bank said, “Make sure your password is a combination of letters, numbers and symbols. Please note that we will never call, text or e-mail you requesting for your personal account information”. Al Khalij Commercial Bank (al khaliji) has also urged its customers to be cautious while doing online transactions.
