Check out the list of the bank holidays in May 2021, released by the Reserve Bank of India

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released a holiday calendar list, as per which, there will be around 12 bank holidays in the month of May. The operations at several banks across the country will be closed on several occasions in May, starting from state holidays to regional festivals and other reasons. The RBI has placed the holidays under three brackets- Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act; Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act and Real-Time Gross Settlement Holiday; and Banks’ Closing of Accounts. According to the holiday list, the banks will be closed for 12 days in May, but it may vary from state to state.
