Two days after a boat capsised in the Yamuna River in Uttar Pradesh’s Banda district, six more bodies have been recovered, taking the death toll to 9. As the rescue operation continues, a total of 11 people are still missing.
The rescuers, including Kishanpur Police and divers, along with villagers found the bodies in the Kishanpur Ghats of the district. A total of nine bodies have been found so far in Banda and Fatehpur, said SDM Baberu Surbhi Sharma.

Late Thursday evening, a 30-member National Disaster Response Force team, a 15-member State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF), and Pradeshik Armed Constabulary were deployed for the rescue operations.
The rescue operation is being carried out continuously by NDRF, SDRF, and Kishanpur Police. Meanwhile, the district administration has started identifying the bodies.
On Thursday, after a boat carrying nearly three dozen people, motorcycles and bicycles capsized, at least 20 people went missing and were feared dead. The incident took place when people were trying to cross the river to reach Fatehpur.
