Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka: Two players and a member of the support staff from the touring Sri Lankan camp have tested positive for Covid-19 in Dhaka. The two teams are scheduled to meet in the 1st ODI on Sunday.
There is uncertainty over a 3-match ODI series between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka as 3 members of the touring Sri Lankan team have tested positive for Covid-19. The 1st ODI of the 3-match series is scheduled to get underway in Dhaka from 1 pm local time on Sunday, May 23. Bowling coach and former left-arm fast bowler Chaminda Vaas, Isuru Udana and Shiran Fernando are the 3 members who have tested positive for Covid-19. Their samples collected on May 18 returned positive. The Sri Lankan team is awaiting the results of the 2nd RT-PCR test for which the samples were collected on Saturday. The three cricketers have not shown any symptoms. The 1st ODI, however, is unlikely to be cancelled, Bangladesh Cricket Board officials have said, according to ESPNCricinfo.
