Ban on Muslim vendors in temple fairs linked to protest against Karnataka hijab verdict?

Karnataka Minister Araga Jnanendra said that ban imposed by temple administrations on Muslim vendors is a reaction to the protest carried out by the Muslim community against the hijab verdict.
Karnataka Home Minister Araga Jnanendra said the decision to not allow Muslim vendors to open shop during festivals and fairs was taken by temple administrations in the backdrop of bandhs and protests, organised by the Muslim community against the hijab verdict.
After the high court verdict upholding the ban on hijabs in schools and colleges, several Muslim organisations closed down shops and commercial establishments as a mark of protest.
Araga Jnanendra said, "After the hijab verdict, a protest was staged against it during which all Muslim shops in the state downed their shutters. After looking at this mindset that they don't need the court and the Constitution, some people have become angry. It is because of this that a demand emerged to not allow non-Hindus to book stalls in temple fairs."

According to the government, there is a circular that was issued in 2002 that stated that within the temple premises and outside of it, non-Hindus should not be allowed to open stalls.
"I am gathering more information on that circular, we need to re-examine it. People from all faiths must join together and take part in nation building. During the hijab controversy, there was a conspiracy to spoil the minds of students. Many people have developed fear and suspicion after that incident," he said.
"I request everyone to work towards creating a peaceful environment. There won't be any law and order problems due to this issue. The home department is keeping a close watch on the situation," the minister said.
