Salwa Eid Naser will miss the Tokyo Olympics after sport’s highest court overturns a ruling that last year cleared her.
Bahrain’s 400-metre world champion Salwa Eid Naser has been banned for two years and will miss the Tokyo Olympics after the highest court in sports overturned a ruling that had cleared her on a technicality for doping tests she missed. The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on Wednesday reversed an independent tribunal’s October 2020 decision that at the time had cleared the 23-year-old to compete in the Tokyo Games next month. “Salwa Eid Naser is sanctioned with a period of ineligibility of two years, commencing on 30 June 2021,” CAS said in a statement.More Related News
