An eight-month old baby in life-threatening condition is among four people injured in a Scarborough house fire on Saturday, Toronto police and paramedics say.
Police were called to the house near Finch Avenue and Brimley Road around 11:10 a.m, according to a post on X, formerly Twitter. The fire is now out.
Toronto Paramedics said they transported four patients in all to a local hospital.
A four-year-old suffered smoke inhalation and a man was found with serious injuries, police said.
Paramedics said one of the four patients is in life-threatening condition, but they would not give further details because they said it is a police matter.
Another patient has serious, non-life threatening injuries, and two more have minor injuries, they said.
January can be a cold and dreary time of the year, and so we reach for things that give us comfort. For those of us who find the kitchen a sanctuary, having the oven on for a good chunk of a Sunday afternoon is a source of pleasure and when I really want to push the boat out, I'll make one of my favourite cozy desserts — rice pudding.
