B.C.'s police watchdog has been called to North Vancouver to investigate an incident at a townhouse complex that sent one person to hospital in critical condition.

The North Vancouver RCMP have not released any information or responded to requests for comment, but the Independent Investigations Office has confirmed it was called in Saturday night. The IIO is deployed to all officer-involved incidents that result in serious injury or death.
While police have not confirmed the location, photos and video show a heavy police presence on Hamber Place near Mount Seymour Road.
BC Emergency Health Services has confirmed three ambulances were sent to that location around 7:45 p.m. and that one patient was transported in critical condition. The paramedics' service does not confirm fatalities.
