Ayan Mukerji has opened up about the future plans for Brahmastra's Astraverse. The first part was released on September 9, 2022.
Filmmaker Ayan Mukerji introduced the audience to Astraverse with his recently released movie, Brahmastra. Starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, the movie minted over Rs 400 crore at the global box office. After the success of the first part, Ayan has now shared plans to expand Astraverse. In an interview, Ayan shared his future plans for Brahmastra's Astraverse and spoke about the Marvel Cinematic Universe's influence on it.
For the unaware, MCU has a dozen theatrical releases and a handful of web shows for OTT platforms. It is the perfect example of a multi-platform cinematic universe. Ayan, too, has similar plans in his mind, but the whole idea is not concrete yet.
"Since we all consume content on streaming, I do want to divide some stuff for that platform. But there is some stuff which is better geared for the big screen. This is the vision, and I wish I could press a button and make this vision come to life. It would be so great if I could hit every deadline. But Astraverse is a startup company and a large-scale mainstream experiment. The potential is incredible, but every single day, I am also learning how to do this thing," he told Hindustan Times.
Recently, at an event, Ayan Mukerji shared the potential release dates of Brahmastra's upcoming parts. At the event, the filmmaker revealed that Brahmastra part 2 will be released around Diwali 2025. And as far as Brahmastra 3 is concerned, it will hit the big screen on Christmas 2026.
