Awqaf removes earlier tweet, to re-examine sighting of Ramadan crescent tomorrow

Doha: Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs has removed the Tweet saying Tuesday is the first of day Ramadan and put out a new tweet saying they will re-examine the sighting of the crescent moon of Ramadan tomorrow, Monday.

The Moon Sighting Committee of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs had earlier announced that crescent moon was not sighted today.  This came in a statement issued by the Committee after its meeting this evening at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, chaired by Dr Sheikh Thaqeel Al Shammari.
