Auto driver in Bengaluru booked for misbehaving with woman passenger

While her husband was trying to register a complaint, the police directed him to go to Sampigehalli police station. There, he was referred to Govindapura and finally Amruthahalli police station citing jurisdictional problems. He finally raised the complaint with the social media account of the city police and shared the details.
A 30-year-old woman returning home in an auto, which she had booked on Namma Yatri app, allegedly had a horrifying experience after the driver drove in different directions despite repeated requests go on the designated route at night on January 2.
Sensing trouble, the victim, a private firm employee, messaged her husband. She jumped out of the autorickshaw near Veeranna Palya on Hebbal Road when the driver slowed down to negotiate a speed bump. She took another autorickshaw and reached home. Her husband called the control room.
The police directed him to go to Sampigehalli police station. There, he was referred to Govindapura and finally Amruthahalli police station citing jurisdictional problems. He finally raised the complaint with the social media account of the city police and shared the details.
“I even raised the complaint with the Namma Yatri customer care. They took details and assured to get back, but in vain,” he told The Hindu.
The woman had booked the auto from Horamavu to Thanisandra to return home. She had gone to meet her relatives and booked the autorickshaw through Namma Yatri app around 8.50 p.m., as per information provided by her husband.
The Sampigehalli police are on the lookout for the driver .
