Attempt to tarnish Tripura’s image: Deputy CM condemns ‘fake news’ about violence in state

Tripura Deputy CM Jishnu Dev Varma denied reports of incidents of violence in the state and claimed that attempts are being made to tarnish the northeastern state’s image.

Tripura Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma called reports about incidents of violence in the state “fake news” and claimed that it is an attempt to tarnish the northeastern state’s image.

“These attempts to tarnish Tripura's cultural heritage and glory are highly reprehensible. Attempts are being made to disgrace Tripura in the country with provocation and help. State government will not let Tripura’s name be disgraced at all,” stated Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma at a press conference.
