Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms won’t seek reelection

New York isn’t the only city that will elect a new mayor this year.

Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms announced late Thursday that she would not seek a second term after what she described as “thoughtful prayer and consideration.” The Democrat did not give a specific reason for her decision not to run. Her announcement made a point of claiming that “[m]ultiple credible polls have shown that if the race for Mayor would be held today, I would be re-elected.”
