At least 30 girls were hospitalised as they fell sick after eating lunch at the Akka Mahadevi hostel in Andhra Pradesh’s Chittoor district. TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu has written a letter to the collector demanding an enquiry.
At least 30 girl students were hospitalised when they fell ill after eating lunch at their hostel in Andhra’s Chittoor district. The incident took place at Akka Mahadevi hostel in Kuppam municipality, Chittoor district.
It is suspected that the students fell ill after consuming food at the hostel which was a part of their afternoon lunch.
The hostel is part of the Dravidian University in the same Kuppam municipality. Kuppam is the constituency of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Chandrababu Naidu, the leader of the Opposition in Andhra Pradesh.
As many as 30 students were admitted to the hospital for treatment, and 17 students were later admitted to a private hospital for better treatment.
Former CM Chandrababu Naidu has urged the administration to provide proper & adequate medical treatment to victims. Further, he has written a letter to the district collector demanding an inquiry into the incident and action against the culprits.
