Assam to provide essential supplies worth Rs 2,000 to the poor in containment zones

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma has asked officials to ensure the poor families in containment zones are supplied with essential commodities worth Rs 2,000 during the lockdown.
In view of the rising Covid-19 cases and its cascading effect in Assam, the state government has decided to provide essential commodities worth Rs 2,000 to the poor living in containment zones. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has directed the deputy commissioners (DCs) in the districts over the same. “Acting against Covid is the primary task of the government of Assam. The DCs, SPs, Joint Directors of Health and other stakeholders should work as a team in their respective districts to give people succour from the pandemic,” Sarma said. The Assam chief minister further directed the deputy commissioners (DCs) to ensure delivery of critical care treatment to Covid-19 patients in need at odd hours in their respective districts.More Related News
