
Assam Says Vehicles Entering State From Mizoram To Be Checked For Drugs

The vehicles, the Assam government said, will be released only after the officer concerned is satisfied that no drugs were carried in them.
To check trafficking of illicit drugs, all vehicles entering into Assam from Mizoram will be put through a check by Assam police at all border entry points of the two states, said the Assam government in a statement. Six men of the Assam police had died in Monday's unprecedented clash between the police of two states. Besides, 45 people were wounded. "During the drive against illlicit drugs, it has been observed that most of the drugs were routed through Assam via Mizoram from across the border," said the Assam order, adding this "trafficking of illicit drugs via Mizoram causes great concern and threat to society".More Related News
