Villagers in Assam built guide bunds made of stone boulders to protect their lands after repeated requests to the authorities to protect their lands from river erosion went unanswered.
With the Assam government and the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) turning a blind eye to their woes, villagers of Assam have built guide bunds made of stone boulders at their own expense to protect their lands. Villagers of at least five villages in the Guabari area under Tamulpur revenue circle in Assam's Baksa district in Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), along the Indo-Bhutan border, have faced several problems due to devastating river erosion for decades.More Related News
