Assam: Police arrest five persons with two elephant tusks in Barpeta

In a joint operation, the Assam police and CRPF arrested five people for smuggling ivory in Barpeta. Police also seized two elephant tusks from their possession.
A joint team of police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) arrested five people for smuggling ivory and seized two elephant tusks in Assam’s Barpeta district on Wednesday evening. Based on secret information, a joint team of Howly police in Barpeta district and 10 battalion of CRPF conducted an operation at Madulijhar area in the lower Assam district and intercepted a four wheeler.
