Assam organisations are now planning to resume the anti-CAA stir after the Centre decided to repeal the three farm laws.
After the Narendra Modi-led government’s decision to repeal three contentious farm laws, anti-CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act) sound is echoing once again in Assam and many organisations, including political parties, have planned to resume the anti-CAA agitation in the state soon.
Several outfits of the state which had been at the forefront in the anti-CAA stir, which started in December 2019, from Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS), All Assam Students’ Union (AASU), Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) to Raijor Dal, Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP), have expressed their intentions to restart the anti-CAA agitation in the state by demanding to scrap the new citizenship act.
