Assam, Meghalaya to form regional committees to resolve inter-state border disputes

In a bid to resolve border dispute, Assam and Meghalaya government agreed to form regional committees headed by cabinet ministers.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and his Meghalaya counterpart Conrad K Sangma have agreed to set up regional committees to resolve the inter-state border disputes. During the second round of chief minister-level meetings on the inter-state boundary dispute between Assam and Meghalaya held in Guwahati on Friday, the Chief Ministers of the two neighbouring states announced the formation of three committees led by cabinet ministers from both sides. They also announced the identification of six out of 12 dispute areas to be resolved on priority.More Related News
