Assam man gives triple talaq to wife, tortures her for stopping him from taking drugs

Allegedly, her husband had regularly taken drugs, consumed liquor and physically tortured his wife, before forcing her and their minor daughter out of his home one day.

A man in Assam’s Nagaon district gave triple talaq to his wife after she tried to stop him from taking drugs and consuming liquor. The incident took place at the Dhaniabheti Chourapara area under the Batadrava police station in the central Assam district. The woman, Majeda Khatun, claimed that her husband Basir Ahmed had regularly taken drugs and consumed liquor and physically tortured her. She had tried to stop her husband from taking drugs and consuming liquor, but she had been physically tortured by her husband.
