Assam: AASU stages statewide protest against NHPC mega dam

The All Assam Students' Union (AASU) on Monday staged a sit-in protest across the state against the construction of the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC)'s 2000 MW Subansiri Lower hydroelectric project in Lakhimpur district along the the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border.

The All Assam Students' Union (AASU) on Monday staged statewide protests against construction of the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC)'s 2000 MW Subansiri Lower hydroelectric project at Gerukamukh in Lakhimpur district along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border.

The AASU members staged sit-in-protest in its district and sub-division headquarters across the state against the NHPC project.
