Asian markets mostly rise after Fed's rate hike; Hong Kong slips

Asian stocks mostly rose Thursday after the Fed got tough on inflation with its biggest rate hike since 1994. But the Hong Kong market slipped after the city hiked its interest rates following the Fed's move.
Japan's Nikkei 225 (N225) climbed 1.4%, and Korea's Kospi (KOSPI) advanced 1.3%. China's Shanghai Composite (SHCOMP) edged up 0.2%.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index (HSI) opened 1% higher, but soon reversed gains and headed down 0.5% from the previous day's close.
After recent burglaries at homes of professional athletes – including Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce – the NFL and NBA have issued security memos to teams and players warning that “organized and skilled groups” are increasingly targeting players’ residences for such crimes.
