Jemimah Rodrigues's career-best performance helped India women to a 41-run win over Sri Lanka in their opening game of the Asia Cup T20 2022.
Jemimah Rodrigues starred with the bat to help Indian women register a comprehensive 41-run win over Sri Lanka in their first match of the Women's Asia Cup T20 2022 in Sylhet on October 1 (Saturday). India women bowled out Sri Lanka for 109 in 18.2 overs after Rodrigues (76) recorded her career-best score, helping the team achieve a total of 150 for 6.

The Indian bowlers came up with a clinical display after a good start with the bat from Sri Lanka. After the dismissal of Chamari Athapaththu, it was always going to be tough for the rest and the Indian bowlers finished it off professionally. Deepti Sharma and Radha Yadav were outstanding in the field and India pounced on whatever was thrown at them.
After India was asked to bat, Rodrigues, put on an exhibition of boundary hitting, slamming 11 fours and a maximum in her 53-ball stint.Rodrigues put together a 92-run partnership with captain Harmanpreet Kaur (33 off 30) after openers Smriti Mandhana (10) and Shafali Verma (6) were cheaply removed. Sri Lankan spinners caused the majority of the harm to India. Oshadi Ranasinghe (3/32) was the pick of the bowlers.
