Asia Cup 2022: Virat Kohli was spotted clicking selfies with a section of fans after his training session at the ICC Academy in Dubai. Kohli is all set to return to competitive action at the continental tournament.
Virat Kohli may not be in the best of forms in the lead-up to the Asia Cup in the UAE but the lack of runs from his blade has not affected his stardom. The love and respect Kohli has been getting from fans ahead of his comeback to competitive cricket has been nothing short of phenomenal.
Given the global stardom Kohli has managed to garner over the years, it's not a surprise to see fans from across the globe cheering for the former India captain on away tours. Kohli, one of the most-followed superstars in social media, has, more often than not, taken time out to interact with fans and oblige their requests for selfies and autographs.
On Wednesday, August 25, Virat Kohli took time out of his busy training schedule to make the day of a Pakistan fan at the ICC Academy in Dubai. After India finished their first training session upon arrival in the UAE, Kohli was making his way back to the team bus when a Pakistan fan caught his attention while requesting a photo opportunity with the superstar cricketer.
In a video that is doing rounds on social media, guards at the ICC Academy can be seen stopping the fan when he tried to approach Kohli but the former India captain observed the turn of events and agreed to click selfies with him and other cricket fans who were at the ICC Academy to see the teams training for the continental tournament.
Notably, India and Pakistan were spotted training at the state-of-the-art facility in Dubai. Virat Kohli was also seen meeting and greeting Pakistan captain Babar Azam during the practice session in Dubai.
The fan in question spoke to PakTV, saying he had been waiting for the opportunity to click a selfie with Virat Kohli at the Asia Cup and he idolises the star India batter.
"I am not a fan of anyone else in the world but Virat Kohli I was waiting for a month to get a selfie from Virat Kohli. I saw him going back from training, I tried a lot to get a selfie with him. He is a very good human being apart from being a good cricketer. He heard my voice and obliged to a selfie," the fan said, saying he was emotional after having managed to interact with Kohli.
